Current and Recent Open Government/FOIA Cases
Case filed on behalf of Young Center for Immigrant Children’s Rights (Young Center) and Immigrant Defenders Law Center (ImmDef). Those organizations requested records from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) pertaining to the Young Adult Case Management Program (YACMP). Neither ICE nor DHS produced any of the requested records for nearly a year. After TPM filed this suit, the government started producing responsive records.

Case filed on behalf of the Maryland Transit Opportunities Coalition (MTOC), a grassroots organization dedicated to the expansion and improvement of public transportation and rail transit networks in Maryland, which sought documents from the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) related to a Maryland plan to widen parts of the Beltway (I-495) and I-270 by adding toll lanes to be operated by private corporations. FHWA did not produce the requested documents. Shortly after TPM filed the complaint, FHWA produced some documents, but withheld many others. Shortly after the parties presented arguments to the Court, FHWA turned over the remaining disputed documents.
